Born on Long Island New York, Tom started playing guitar at the age of 10
after hearing Elvis, Buddy Holly and the Beatles and played in rock bands throughout
attend the
University of South Florida's jazz program under Chuck Owen.

Upon graduation he became the guitarist and musical director for top jazz singer
Belinda Womack  and was voted Tampa Bay's Best Jazz Band in 1994. While with
Belinda, Tom performed concerts with legendary cornetist
Nat Adderly and opened
shows for numerous national acts including Branford Marsalis, The Rippingtons,
Spyro Gyra, Herbie Mann, Oleta Adams and many others. After recording a CD in
1998, Tom joined R&B singer /
national recording artist Kasai and recorded his
debut CD in 2000.

Also an avid composer Tom writes and records music for
FILM and TELEVISION,
producing spots for Disney and Microsoft. His latest film score for the holocaust
drama,
SHALOM, won at the Tampa Bay Jewish film festival in 2010. He will begin
work in 2011 on his first Hollywood feature,
3 TIMES A CHARM.

Currently, Tom leads his own Jazz / funk group -
TOM JEMMOTT BAND and performs  
with the high energy 12 piece dance band
Southtown Fever . He is also a member of
the modern Jazz Trio -
THICK AS THIEVES and continues a busy performance
schedule as a freelance jazz, classical and pop/rock guitarist as well as teaching
privately at
Don Banks Music  in South Tampa.

Tom's musical inspiration comes from a variety of players and styles. From the
jazz
sounds
of  Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall and Pat Metheny  to the rock sounds of Jimi
Hendrix and Keith Urban, Tom approaches his music with
fire and passion.
